One of the questions we’re often asked is “How much CBD oil should I take?” Unfortunately, as CBD is not a drug it’s not something you can ask your physician. While, as the internet is fond of saying, your mileage may vary, let’s look at some general guidelines.
Hemp CBD oil is a supplement
And like any supplement, it’s important to get the correct serving size for proper use and best results. While we can offer some general pointers, the dosage will be different for everyone.
Think about it. We’re not all the same size or have the same body mass index (BMI). We don’t all metabolize supplements at the same rate and everyone’s bodies have different needs. On top of that, our CBD oil products vary in strength. Our tinctures, for example, come in strengths of 250mg, 500mg and 1,000mg of CBD. And products produced by other producers can vary greatly on their potency, recommended dosage, and the type of product.
Our recommended CBD oil usage
Because of the above, we can’t just say “You should take x-amount of CBD oil”. What we recommend, is that you start out taking small amounts and monitor the results.
Over a period of say, one week, keep notes of how much CBD you take, when you take it, and the effect. If you find you’re not getting the results you want, increase the amount a little at a time.
What are the side effects?
While there are some common side effects of taking CBD oil, they tend to be mild. But if you start out with small doses and only increase them if needed, you can help to lessen the side effects. Some of the things you may notice include a dry mouth, feeling more fatigued than usual, and a feeling of a full stomach.
If you are taking any prescribed medication, you should consult a medical professional before taking any supplements. As with any supplement, if you experience severe or unusual side effects, you should contact a medical professional immediately.
